Anchorage police say an 18-year-old man who was beaten and left to die in an abandoned downtown house has not regained consciousness.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Castro says detectives continue to follow up on leads in the assault on James Clinton.
Clinton was found late Sept. 16 in a home due to be demolished at Eighth Avenue and Barrow Street.
Police say he likely would have died if an anonymous note had not been slipped under the door of the University of Alaska Anchorage police squad room. The note said Clinton had been left in the house.
UAA police alerted Anchorage police, who found Clinton inside the boarded-up home. He had suffered severe injuries to his face and body.
The home was demolished Sept. 19 to make room for a parking lot.
