Another Juneau man is going to jail for his role in a federal drug trafficking case.
Darren Louis Wigg, 34, was sentenced Wednesday to five years behind bars. Wigg’s co-defendant, Edward Hausinger, 49, was sentenced to two years in prison on July 27th.
According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s office, Juneau Police had been investigating Wigg for dealing cocaine.
Investigators intercepted a package containing both cocaine and ecstasy. After replacing the drugs, and fitting the package with an electronic beacon, Drug Enforcement Administration agents delivered it to Hausinger’s business — Southeast Computer and Photography.
Hausinger took it to a room rented by Wigg at the Alaskan Hotel.
Officers arrested both men when the package was opened, setting off the beacon.
