The victims of that plane crash in Juneau have been identified as a physician’s assistant at the Hoonah clinic and his wife. Reportedly, pilot Charles Luck, 77, was instrument rated. His wife was Li Ping Tang-Luck, 51. He had worked at the Anchorage Native hospital as well as in Adak, Barrow and Kotzebue.
National Transportation Safety Board investigator Clint Johnson says investigators are listening to Air Traffic Control tapes and conducting interviews. Luck had contacted the Juneau airport tower about 10 miles out, and was not heard from again.
Johnson says small aircraft like Luck’s Cessna do not have a flight data recorder.
